<p>The Hong Kong Government Wi-Fi Service is a Government funded initiative to provide free wireless Internet access to the public in government venues with high public patronage. The content filtering system is operated independently by the service provider. The Government also does not collect or examine any information related to websites being filtered. The Government only requests filtering of websites that are classified as containing obscene, indecent, malicious or illegal contents. The content filtering requirements would be adjusted at some venues in accordance with the Internet usage policy specified by the venues concerned, to align with the operation of these venues. For example, online gambling websites are also filtered at public libraries.
